Director: Valerie Farmer

Valerie Farmer has lived in Hamblen County all her life. She graduated from ETSU with a B.S. Degree in Business Management, with an Emphasis in Marketing. She worked at Regency Retirement Village for over 16 years in Marketing and Activities. She has been involved with the Senior Center in some capacity for 18 years – as a Volunteer, Board Member, and now as the new Director. In her “spare time”, she enjoys shopping, traveling, reading, and spending time with her family. She is married to Raymond Farmer. They have 2 daughters, Lindsay & Savannah. Valerie is excited about the future at the Senior Citizens Center & looks forward to making many happy memories with you all.

Assistant Director: Carol Collins

Carol came to work for the Senior Citizens Center as Assistant Director in 2012. She retired from Knox County Criminal Court after 15 years of service. Her responsibilities at the center are accounts payable and receivable clerk, input of all computer data pertaining to activities at the center, helping with all activities including bingo and luncheons, and covering for the Director, in her absence. Some of Carol’s hobbies are hiking, theater and art.

Reception: Lois Seals

A native of Hamblen County, Lois was married to the late Jimmy Seals. Following her career at Anchor Brush, she worked at Morristown-Hamblen Hospital for 5 years before before taking a position here in 2002. She is a mother, a grandmother and a great-grandmother.

Reception: Gerry Seals

Gerri Seals, Reception, Vital Visits Coordinator Vital Visits /meal coordinator Gerri Seals is from Mooresburg.
She claims she has a boring life, then the said, “NO! I have had a good life. I have had 3 boys and good jobs.” She has worked at Kmart in Knoxville for 20 years back in the 70s and 80s then at Berkline, locally for 35 years where she retired in 2002 and could not give up working so she came to Senior Citizens in 2005. When pressed for what she does at Senior Citizens, she says, “Everything!” and she was answering the main phone when we talked. She says she enjoys listening to Blue-Grass music and working with Encore, Theatre Guild and Rose Center. She has been divorced for 35 years and her worst time in her life was losing her eldest son.

Administrative Assistant: Casey Schaad

Casey is a trained ICU nurse from Miami who ended here in Morristown and worked at Lakeway Regional and Morristown-Hamblen. When she retired, she became bored and did volunteer work. When the position for “driver” came open, she took it.

Maintenance: Terry Stout

Hailing from Elizabethton, Terry moved here with his father to work at ENKA. Then Terry worked there as Instrument Tech and electrician. After Enka closed, Terry came to Senior Citizens to work to prevent boredom. He has been here over 8 years and he says “I love this place.”
